Roland
Every prior auth, airtight.
Roland is Paladyn's prior-authorization champion — it grades a request's documentation packet before submission, so a missing note becomes a prevented denial instead of a pursued one.
What it does
Authorization denials are usually documentation problems discovered too late. Roland checks each request against payer documentation requirements before it goes out, submits over modern payer rails — Da Vinci CRD, DTR, and PAS, with X12 278 as the wire-format fallback — and tracks every request through a pipeline with SLA and retry flags so nothing silently expires. Medicare Notices of Admission ride the same rails.
Capabilities
- Documentation sufficiency grading before submission
- Da Vinci CRD/DTR/PAS payer APIs with X12 278 fallback
- Pipeline tracking with SLA, retry, and expiration flags on every request
- Medicare Notice of Admission (NOA) submission on the same rails
- Inline manual entry with real-time sufficiency feedback
How it works
Grade
Before anything is sent, Roland scores the documentation packet against that payer's requirements — and tells staff exactly what's missing while it's still easy to fix.
Submit
Complete requests go out over the best rail for the payer — Da Vinci CRD/DTR/PAS APIs where they exist, X12 278 through the Hermes gateway everywhere else.
Track
Every request lives in a pipeline with SLA and retry flags — pending auths get chased, approaching expirations get surfaced, and outcomes feed the platform.
Why it matters
An auth denial can void an entire admission's reimbursement — and appeals on missing-documentation denials are the hardest to win. Catching the missing note before submission turns the most expensive denial category into a checklist item at the front of the process.
Security & compliance
Roland runs inside Paladyn's HIPAA-aligned environment; authorization traffic moves only over secure, credentialed connections, and every request carries a tamper-evident audit trail. Every Paladyn tool is built toward HITRUST and SOC 2, with PHI controlled per our standards.
